The Windows Presentation Foundation is the future of web and windows development. For web technologies it finally allows for a truly scalable website with flash like effects such as storyboarding and even incorporates true 3D. The web version comes under the name ‘SilverLight’ and is completely cross platform which means it will even run on a Mac/Linux box.

For windows development the WPF is much quicker than conventional applications, there is also much more power over the look and feel of applications, everything you see is customizable, right down to the little triangle on a scroll bar!
