Computer Weekly Best Places to Work in IT Award
Brett Technologies is one of the best places in the country to work – and that’s
official!
Computer Weekly magazine has named us winner of the IT Software, Hardware and Services
(less than 250 employees supported) category in its Best Places to Work in IT 05
awards.
The announcement was made at a prestigious luncheon at the Park Lane Hotel, London,
on Tuesday.
The awards were set up to encourage and promote employment 'best practice' within
UK organisations. They recognise firms in the forefront of enlightened working practice
and the criteria for selection included:
-
A positive working environment that includes effective team building, stimulating
prospects and innovative and attractive benefits.
-
Continued professional development with enjoyable and effective training, coaching
and mentoring and career progression.
-
Commitment to a work-life balance and equal opportunities
Judges were professionals from across the IT board and included representatives
of Computer Weekly, the British Computer Society, E-Skills UK, the IT Directors
Network, the National Computer Centre, UK Oracle User Group and the Communications
Management Association.
Managing Director Barry Bullen said: “This is a great accolade for all of us here.
“It is a particularly gratifying award because the company’s name was not put forward
by the management, but by the staff. It is nice to think that people are so happy
working here they believe we are worthy of a special award.”
2004 saw Brett Technologies Limited making major investment in maintaining its Microsoft
Gold Partner status and attaining Microsoft Business Solutions accreditation. This
combination makes Brett Technologies Limited one of only a handful of companies
in the UK capable of providing total IT solutions and services and we mean to continue
to build on this in 2005.
The firm, which started in 1996, became a limited company in 2000 with Mr Bullen
as MD and Mark Blinkhorn as technical director.
